October 7, 1954 - La Montagne, Béruges, France:

The Béruges Incident

At approximately 4:15 a.m. on October 7, 1954, farmer Édouard Thébault noticed an intense light outside his home near Béruges, France. Looking through his window, he reportedly saw a brilliant object descending roughly 40 meters away.

Thébault described the object as resembling a large luminous mushroom, approximately two to three meters wide. It appeared to settle near the road before its glow suddenly disappeared. Moments later, a powerful searchlight-like beam swept across the surrounding countryside.

Alarmed, Thébault went to wake his father. By the time they returned to the window, the

mysterious object had vanished.

The encounter occurred during the massive French UFO wave of 1954, when hundreds of strange aerial objects and alleged landings were reported throughout the country. Although the Béruges case lacks photographs or physical evidence, it remains an intriguing close-range sighting from one of the most active periods in UFO history.
