Reptilians
Reptilian aliens, often referred to as "Reptilians" or "reptoids," are among the most well-known and controversial beings in UFO history. Descriptions of these entities vary widely, but they are typically portrayed as intelligent humanoid creatures possessing reptile-like features such as scaly skin, elongated faces, slit-pupil eyes, clawed hands, and powerful physiques. Depending on the account, they are said to range from six to ten feet tall and are often described as possessing advanced technology and telepathic abilities.
The origins of reptilian beings can be traced back to ancient mythology. Many cultures around the world feature legends of serpent-like entities, dragon gods, and reptilian humanoids. Some UFO researchers point to stories of the Nāga in Hindu and Buddhist traditions, feathered serpent deities Quetzalcoatl in Mesoamerica, and dragon legends found throughout Europe and Asia as possible evidence that encounters with reptilian beings may have occurred throughout human history. Historians and archaeologists, however, generally view these stories as mythological traditions rather than records of extraterrestrial contact.
Reptilians became firmly established in modern UFO culture during the latter half of the twentieth century. Contactees, abductees, and alleged experiencers began reporting encounters with reptilian-looking entities aboard UFOs or in underground facilities. In many of these accounts, Reptilians are portrayed as physically imposing beings that occupy positions of authority. Some witnesses claim they observed Reptilians directing or supervising smaller Gray aliens, leading to theories that the species are connected in some way.
Descriptions of Reptilians in abduction reports often emphasize their intimidating appearance and behavior. Witnesses frequently describe them as having dark green, brown, or gray scales, muscular bodies, and penetrating eyes with vertical pupils similar to those of snakes. Some experiencers claim the beings communicated telepathically, while others reported feeling overwhelming fear in their presence.
The reptilian phenomenon gained widespread public attention through the work of David Icke, who popularized the idea that shape-shifting reptilian beings secretly influence governments, financial institutions, and other centers of global power. According to this theory, some prominent political and business leaders are either Reptilians themselves or are controlled by them. While these claims have attracted a devoted following, no credible evidence has ever been presented to support them, and they are widely
rejected by scientists, historians, and mainstream UFO researchers.
Despite their popularity in UFO literature and conspiracy theories, there is currently no verified scientific evidence that reptilian extraterrestrials exist. Reports involving Reptilians rely primarily on personal testimony, alleged abduction experiences, interpretations of ancient myths, and speculative theories. Nevertheless, Reptilians remain one of the most enduring and recognizable alien archetypes, occupying a unique place at the intersection of mythology, science fiction, conspiracy theories, and modern UFO belief.
