October 4, 1967 - Near Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada:
The Shag Harbour UFO Incident
On the night of October 4, 1967, residents near Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, witnessed one of Canada’s most famous UFO incidents. Several people reported seeing a large illuminated object, described as displaying a row of bright lights, descending rapidly toward the Atlantic Ocean.

Believing an aircraft had crashed, witnesses contacted the RCMP. Officers, local fishermen, and the Canadian Coast Guard searched the water for survivors and wreckage, but authorities could find no missing aircraft connected to the event.
The mystery deepened when the Canadian military became involved. Divers searched the suspected impact area but reportedly recovered no wreckage or other evidence identifying the object.
Surviving government documents referred to the incident as a “UFO Report,” although this simply meant the object remained unidentified—not that officials believed it was extraterrestrial.
With multiple witnesses, an official emergency response, military involvement, and contemporary government records, the Shag Harbour incident remains one of the most intriguing and well-documented UFO cases in Canadian history.
