September 27, 1989 - Voronezh, Soviet Union:
The Voronezh UFO Incident
On September 27, 1989, children playing soccer in a park in Voronezh, Soviet Union, reported seeing a glowing red object descend nearby. According to their accounts, the craft landed and several extraordinary figures emerged.
The children described a towering humanoid, reportedly around 10 feet tall, with a small head and three eyes, accompanied by a smaller robot-like figure. In the strangest part of the story, one being allegedly pointed a tube-like device at a teenage boy, causing him to temporarily vanish before reappearing.

The incident became an international sensation after TASS, the official Soviet news agency, reported that scientists had investigated the alleged landing site. Early reports mentioned ground impressions and unusual material, creating the impression that physical evidence supported the encounter.
However, the evidence did not hold up under closer examination. The supposedly mysterious material was identified as ordinary hematite, and investigators found no convincing physical proof that a spacecraft had landed. Scientists involved also complained that some of their findings had been exaggerated by the media.
Despite these problems, the Voronezh incident remains one of the most bizarre UFO cases of the Soviet era, remembered for its alleged landed craft, giant three-eyed beings, robot companion, and the remarkable fact that the story was broadcast around the world by the Soviet Union's own official news agency.
